Represented by the Body: Earth, Universe, and the World in between

Recording 02 of 08

Earth below as feeling, heavens above as intellect

Presence is the test of consciousness: be totally here, withdraw from the senses, and enter the universe within; dissolve the worldly emotion dividing earth (feeling) and heavens (intellect) so the whole of life becomes the meditation.

SUMMARY

The talk demands undistracted being. Great presence is present; so must each listener be—alone, honest, and un-emotional. The body is shown as a universe: the lower half as earth and feeling, the upper as heavens and intellect. Pure earth energy rises pristine, then twists to intellect at the waist for right perception. Between them a 'world' has grown—fear, wanting, trying—usurping authority. Meditation is the return of the Lord to the kingdom: pulling back from the senses, gathering attention at the centre, and asserting a new authority so rebellious energies behave.

Excitement is exposed as indulgence that turns to depression; equilibrium, not highs and lows, is the way. Love is to be given without attachment; sexual fantasy must be sacrificed if meditation is to go deeper. Man and woman are asked to be strong, not emotional: woman to surrender to love without emotion; man to love with authority without willfullness. The solar plexus is the undifferentiated sense-centre where birdsong and beauty register directly. Practical counsel follows: turn off distractions, stop hoping for tomorrow, and be present now.

The talk closes with audience working on fear and guilt, returning always to the same insistence: stay with the truth, claim the kingdom, and no new emotion is allowed in. Life then is meditation; breathing and walking are pleasures when the world of problems is dissolved.
