ASKED QUESTIONS

All audio and video recordings in the archive are entirely original recordings. We do not use any AI-generated audio or video. Our collection comprises materials recorded on various older formats, including magnetic tapes, video cassettes, and other legacy media. These recordings have undergone meticulous restoration and remastering processes to enhance their quality and ensure they are accessible to our audience in the best possible form. The restoration process is painstakingly manual and does not involve AI or automated programmatic techniques. Each recording is carefully restored by skilled professionals dedicated to preserving the authenticity and integrity of the original material.

The Barry Long Foundation International (BLFI) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to making Barry Long’s teachings widely available to those who are ready for them.

Creating and maintaining a high-quality digital archive of his work requires significant time, expertise, and financial resources. Over the past several years, we’ve carefully processed more than two thousand recordings — each one restored, digitised, catalogued, and prepared in accessible, contemporary formats. In most cases, older recordings required special treatment to preserve or improve their quality, which involved specialist audio technicians and additional processing time. This work demands experienced and seasoned professionals and cannot be sustained by volunteers alone.

In addition to the time and expertise involved, there are also significant and ongoing operational costs. These include platform hosting fees, software licenses, content delivery infrastructure, digital preservation systems, and regular site maintenance. But that’s only part of the picture. Behind the scenes, there are many other essential expenses — including transcription services, sound engineering for audio restoration and remastering, editorial work to ensure accuracy and clarity, and the development of tools and interfaces that make the archive easier to navigate and search. We are also investing in the development of metadata tagging, content indexing, and more.

All of this adds up.

While income from product sales contributes to these efforts, it simply isn’t sufficient to cover the full cost of maintaining and expanding an archive of this depth and quality.

That’s why we charge a modest subscription fee. This income enables us to continue expanding the archive, improve its usability, and make more of Barry Long’s teachings available to a growing global audience. Your support directly contributes to this long-term vision — helping preserve this body of work and make it accessible to all who seek it.

Depending on the level of support and income generated through the archive, we may also be able to expand our offerings across more platforms. One possibility we are actively considering is the development of a dedicated mobile application, which would make Barry Long’s teachings even more accessible on phones and tablets. Such an app would allow users to stream or download recordings, browse curated collections, and receive new content updates—all within a user-friendly interface designed specifically for mobile use. Expanding in this way would greatly enhance the reach and usability of the archive, bringing these teachings to more people, in more places, and in more useful forms.
