The Master | Talks from Tamborine Mountain 1986 - May
Barry Long insists on staying with the presence and reality of I, where there is nothing to work out, and on recognising the Master—the one power that stops thinking—as the very I within the listener.
'The Master is the only power on earth that can stop you thinking, without loss of your individuality or consciousness.'
'What you are doing on the spiritual path is dissolving yourself as time.'
'A polite person is a violent person… whenever you pretend to be what you are not, you are gathering violence.'

EPISODE NOTES
The Master is required until one can truly say, 'I do not think.' The Master appears outside — only because the listener is not yet the Master. In truth there is only one Master in the entire universe: the I that is present and does not think. There is no evolution of the I because the I is always present. What changes is the amount of time in you: the time accreted through talking about 'the past' and reliving experience. Presence dispels this past, revealing the true body of timelessness. As time dissolves, unhappiness and problems end.
