EPISODE NOTES

Barry contrasts the world’s training—“emote, promote, present”—with the spiritual negative: listening without involvement. Poise, amid sunsets or arguments, is the state of the spirit. The only reliable measure of a teaching is freedom from unhappiness now.

Cause and effect governs the body and mind; it does not bind what one truly is—love, life, truth. Identified with body-mind, one suffers swings; immersed in truth, there is no opposite and no bondage. Even moral polarities good and bad arise from choice, whenever you choose to be one or see one, you create the other. The way is humility: produce nothing, and let spirit act.
