Accepting your Life as it is: The Power of Consciousness

Recording 10 of 12

Surrendering Control and Embracing Consciousness

Karma means that everything here is past, all circumstances are karma/past, but God/consciousness is “in advance” of everything here, in advance of the body and the circumstances. In advance means: before time, before past, before existential circumstances. Only by accepting your life as it is, can you connect with your consciousness. This helps you to bear dire circumstances and also will have an effect on them, because consciousness is in advance of circumstances and influences them.

SUMMARY

Barry Long teaches the difference between 'knowing' and 'knowledge', urging acceptance of life as it is and surrender to consciousness, where true knowledge arises. He addresses pain, forgiveness, and non-attachment, emphasising that spiritual freedom is found through love, gratitude, and relinquishing the will to control circumstances.

Throughout the talk, Barry explores the transformative power of conscious living, offering guidance on dissolving past pain, resentment, and emotional burdens, especially in family relationships. The path to inner peace, he notes, is through forgiveness, love, and embracing the immediacy of life.

Through dialogue and anecdote, Barry demonstrates how genuine gratitude, praise, and receiving—both from life and others—foster spiritual maturity. Emphasis is placed on giving up the 'want' in living, letting go of goals, and receiving with openness.

Barry discusses the layered structure of existence—physical, psychic, and spiritual—advising that attachment to form keeps us confined, while consciousness liberates. He explains that detachment, right prayer, and loving the whole lead to freedom and release from karma.

The talk is interwoven with real-life questions and testimonies, offering living proof of the teaching's spiritual principles at work. Listeners share breakthroughs in love, forgiveness, and peace, reflecting the fruit of practicing non-judgement, gratitude, and silent being.
