The Truth of Crystal
One of the popular interests today seems to be in crystals. People are hanging them round their necks, looking into them, praying over them, putting them on show. So I’ll tell you the truth of crystals.
A crystal was once a rock. Rock is solid, heavy, stuck, dark, immovable. Crystal is a refinement of rock. Crystal reflects the light. A crystal vibrates. Crystals are used to makesound: in the latest science of sound the finest sounds are created through crystals. The crystal resonates: it can be used for telling the time. If you want to, you can handle the crystal to bring about some apparently magical effect. Sometimes it will work; sometimes it won’t – so that can’t be the truth of crystal.
The point of crystals is for you, man or woman, to crystallise yourself – to make yourself as pure, as clear as crystal. You can be rock-hard, dull and immovable. Or you can be crystalline, scintillating, resonating to the beauty of life. What is your resonance now? Are you turgid, depressed and burdened like a rock? Or are you sweet and crystal clear? Look inside your- self. Do you have the rock, the burden in you? Or the sweetness of crystal? Can you sense the life inside yourself, the wonder and beauty of it? That’s all you need to start to make yourself crystal clear.
There is a place for rock on this earth, and it is good. Everything is good on this earth – rock and crystal – but you must put the rock in its place. The place for rock in your body is down in your stomach, down around your pelvic bones, down there where you sit inside your body – that is the rock, the earthy part of you. So let the rock be heavy, solid. Let the rock be itself there, for that is its place in the earth which your body represents. If you let the rock get into your head – if you let the heaviness creep up there in the form of thinking – you get rock-hard in the brain. And you vibrate to the heavy dirge of thought instead of resonating beautifully with crystal clarity.
The whole of you is crystalline. You are vibrating with life. You are life on earth and the life you hear in the breeze, the birds, the insects, you hear with your crystal consciousness, your crystal-clear being in the body. If you’ve got rocks in your head, how will you hear anything but the burden of living?
To be real man, real woman, you’ve got to crystallise yourself. You’ve got to do it now, by being now. You’ve got to give up the thought-made burden.
Now, which are you – rock or crystal?
